Artist, Designer, Wizard.
Conceptual printmaking, photography, sculpture and installations from a Colombian-American artist. Geometric abstraction and focused narrative, with a healthy mix of wisdom and sarcasm.
As an artist, my work conceptually revolves around the interaction between human beings and their environment, and the effects they have on each other. I am currently exploring how humanity might utilize the ideas, systems & infrastructure of the manufacturing industry to create or replace natural resources, with the ultimate goal of high volume production. The Industrial Revolution marked a major turning point in our history, in addition to bringing products to the masses at low prices, Earth's ecology and humanities relationship with our environment have changed dramatically. My hope is that through this exploration, both the utopian and dystopian possibilities will be made apparent to the viewer, inspiring the creation of a socially and ecologically conscious future.
I was born in Barranquilla, Colombia in 1985 and have lived all over the continental United States. I currently live in Michigan. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Gwen Frostic School of Art at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In addition to an education in the Visual Arts I am a classically trained and accomplished percussionist, an avid motorcycle rider and a manufacturing strategist.
